So I bought a chicken. It was so windy tonight that I knew the Q would blow out so I'll wait until tomorrow to cook it. The wind is coming from a bad direction too. It's blowing the leaves off of my neighbors tree and into my yard! That just isn't fair. (It's not the same trees I wrote about in Bigfoot woman post) Usually it's their garbage that blows into my yard. Now I have their leaves too. What really sucks is that my good, neighbor who is a neat freak is down wind of me. And the messy neighbors are all up wind. When it's windy here it is DARN windy! The only other places I've seen it this windy were Great Falls Montana, and Hood River Oregon. At least at Hood River I can windsurf. I'd say that the wind is over 30 mph and probably gusting to over 40 or more. Perhaps 50. I like it at night when I sleep though.

How is the beer can chicken?
It should be good. I've had it before and it's really good.
I LOVE beer can chicken. Let us know how this works for you. I've always had to get the chicken to "sit pretty" in the centre of a 9x9 pan and hope it doesn't get tipsy.
Good to hear from you WP! It worked great. There is a plug thing that goes in the neck of the chicken. (you can see it in the photo) The steam inside comes under some pressure and the "steam" cooks the chicken from the inside out, as well. Once the plug popped out and so I pushed it in farther.
I used a Pilsner beer because that was what I had, but next time I'm going to get some Guinness dark beer. They say it is better with dark beer. Diane thinks wine and cider would work too.
What kind of beer do you use?
The pan I have is made by Weber. It has non-stick stuff on it.
The couple of times I've tried the beer can chicken I've used PBR, mostly because it's about the only beer I drink out of the can. Since you can pour the beer in you should try a nice hoppy IPA and see if any of the hop aroma comes thru.
Hm,..I'll have to give that a try. I need to try a few things to see if I can tell the difference and see what I like best. So that is a very good idea.
