I skied at Lookout Pass on my way to Montana for Easter. The skiing was free BTW, Thank you Lookout! I'm a lttle nostalgic about Lookout Pass. I've always loved skiing there. I took this picture while it was snowing Saturday. I removed the color and it had kind of a vintage look that I associate with the place. If you look around in the lodge there are lots of old photos, and I think that inspired me.
And here's a picture of the trees as you ride up the chair from the backside.
Here's a picture I took of the frontside chairlift at the top of it after the ski season ended a couple of years ago. I skied up alone on my back country skis and had the whole place to myself. Then I telemarked down. I've posted this picture once before but I thought it went well with this set so here it is again.

I like those photos Don! Although the black and white makes the slopes look like a lonely place. . . .
On our way up to Big Bear on Saturday we saw a few skiers but the lifts weren't running. :(
Maybe it's more like solitude for me.
The mood was actually happy there on Saturday because the skiing was free and there was fresh pow.
I think it looks like a really nice place to get your close to last if not last ski in for the season. I applaud you for putting it into black and white, so many times people forget about how cool B&W's can be and are so caught up in color. I love the trees pic the best of this set. It's graphically divine!
Yep, that is our Lookout. We almost only ski there. Nice....
Thanks Jules, I always like the way those trees look back there but it's hard to get a picture of them that makes visual sense.
QP, I've always liked skiing there too. Nice people there.
Hi,
we are Lookout skiers, and my husband patrols there. Was wondering if you would sell your photos (this one and the trees on the backside). Would love to blow them up bigger if the resolution is great enough- could also get you some lift tickets. :)
Thanks!
Meredith
