Hobie sailing on Flathead Lake

This Hobie 16 was getting good speed on Flathead Lake. This boat looks great with its colored sails. I love it when the spray is washing across the boat like this. It feels good on a hot day like it has been in Montana recently. At one point there were 5 Hobie Cats on the bay, and one larger catamaran. It's been great sailing lately.

Looks like it's screaming along. I love the photo, and how you can see the reflection of the sails in the crisp blue water. I've never seen that many Hobies on the lake there at the same time, I don't think. Other sailboats, yes, but not Hobies.

They were out in numbers. It's a great place for Hobie sailing.

We saw that Hobie as we drove by, I'm pretty sure. Or one with very similar sail. There were SO many sailboats out; it was great sight.

I'd be happy to take you sailing sometime. I'm a very conservative sailor and won't sail in some conditions.

Cool! I'll look for your boat. Mine is blue hull with white sails. Nice to see so many Hobie Cats on the bay.

Pretty Sails!

The picture looked ok on my camera, laptop and desktop, but it looks over saturated on my screen here. It really was a pretty sight though. They were having fun on that boat.

Don, Matt would be thrilled to do that. We have been scanning Craig's list for a used Prindle or Hobiecat...

I think you should get a Hobie and not a Prindle. The Hobie 16 is one of the most popular one designs ever made, so as a result all of the parts are still in production. You can order anything you need, plus there are lots of used parts and boats on the market. That's a huge consideration with a sail boat. So if I were you I'd go with a Hobie 16 or even a Hobie 18 (the 18 is no longer in production but it's a faster design if not a little more technical)
