I have to wonder about Macy's closing now though. It has been said that women shop and men hunt. I can't remember who said that.. It might have been me who said it.., That at least used to be true. If women aren't willing to shop at that location now I don't know what the answer is. I don't think they can expect men to come to the rescue.. unless..
It's too bad in a way though. For the employees especially. It's sort of like now what..? I think everyone thought it would always be there in one form or another. Maybe if they opened a gun store there. It seems like that is what is selling these days..

I remember when a couple of the big department stores closed (or threatened to close) here. It sort of left me feeling like an important piece of the city was going away. It is too bad that all those people lose their jobs. Hopefully they get payouts of some kind.

I can't remember seeing Sears the last time I was there. Is it still there? Target buyout of Zellers was shameful though. Nobody won on that deal. I think I heard that they would offer some sort of severance package or re-position for Macy's. There's another Macy's in the valley. Perhaps if there were better parking options downtown. I'm at least at the point that I don't want to pay just to park my car. If there's another option I'll take it.
Sears is still here, but in a different mall (Bower). It used to live in Parkland Mall, a while back. And you're right about the Target thing. Seems more and more big stores like that are going by the wayside.
