Dayton Montana and Flathead Lake

Dayton Montana on Flathead Lake. Wild Horse Island is on the right. They just put a few more horses on the island for people to see when they go for a hike there. Until this winter they were down to one old horse. It was a one horse island. I saw it a while back and he didn't look that wild, but you have to have wild horses on Wild Horse Island. There are Bighorn Sheep and Mule deer on the island as well as other wild animals. I guess they could call it Wild Animal Island the next time they run out of horses...

Poor old horse. At least now he has friends to talk to.

Yes he has friends now, but they don't expect the old horse to make it through another winter. He had a good life on the island I guess.

That's an amazing photo. Just one word comes to mind for me here: serenity.

Hmm. Well at least he doesn't have to die alone now.

Jules, those birds were kind of frantic that I was there actually.

Diane, that's a good point. He won't die alone now.
