Boat ride to Wild Horse Island

I took the skiff (aunt Gertrude) over to Wild Horse Island. All of my boats are named after my aunts,. except for my Hobie Cat which is named after my cat. I have quite a few aunts to go so I can get quite a few more boats.. Did a little fishing. Climbed around on the driftwood logs. Looked at the rocks. Took in the sweet Montana air.

Do you ever take a piece of nature back home with you as a reminder of serene days like that must have been? A tiny rock or a leaf or a twig?

You're not supposed to take anything, but I've taken a couple of very small rocks from the beach.

I have plently of the same rocks where the cabin is.

Thanks Diane. The light was getting so low that I just removed the color.

We haven't been out to Wild Horse Isl. for a number of years. Your photo brings it all back. I've heard it only has one horse right now but more are being brought over. You have a Hobie Cat! Very cool. And, I think many Montanans are rock hounds.

I hadn't heard that about the horses but it would make sense. I did see a horse last year on the island. Wild Horse is one of my favorite places.

There are more and more Hobie Cats on the bay these days. It's fun. You can see a pic of my old boat if you stroll down on my blog. August 14th.

I love the way the line of the water, trees and the driftwood curves through the picture. Beautiful.

I love being on and around Wild Horse Island. My dad used to take me there when I was small. It's very peaceful place and a great place to view wildlife, go for a hike or just climb around on the logs.
