Betty Baker pasta

Sorry I haven't been too active posting. I've been out riding my bike. I do have something to share however.

I do a lot of cooking. I've found what I think is a really good dry spaghetti, and I've tried a lot of different ones. BETTY BAKER. I'm not kidding it's really good. I bought it just by chance the first time although now I see that they have a plant here. That might explain why it's so good but there must be more to it than just that. I'm not associated with them in any way and I'm not trying to plug a local company, but if you can find it where you are buy it. No sodium and no cholesterol too.

And to go with it I've found a pretty good pasta sauce in a jar. It's Ragu, Sundrided Tomato & Sweet Basil. It actually has sundried tomatoes in it and I love those. It's not as amazing as the Betty Baker pasta but it's pretty good for something out of a jar.

I recently heard you have to be careful what you endorse on your blog. So I want to make it clear, I'm not being paid by Betty Baker Pasta. I don't know anyone who works there, and I don't work for them. I didn't even know they made pasta here. But I eat pasta and this really is good.

That looks really good. I love pasta. :) I'm sure I can find it somewhere here!

I looked at their website and they had a die maker with specialty dies for different shapes of pasta. They had one that was treble-clef shaped! They also have a trumpet; it looks kind of like the logo in "Crying of Lot 49".

The Ragu sounds really good too! I usually get Prego; I had a bad experience with Ragu once. So I get Prego and add stuff to it to make it my own. :)

Have fun cycling!

I think the quality of the pasta might have been due to how fresh it was since it was made right here. I didn't realize that until I looked at the package. After I went through one package I liked it enough to look for it again in the store.

The first time I had Ragu (the stuff in the jar) My Italian friend's mom was using it. It kind of suprised me, but she said it was easier than making it herself. She was making her own pasta however.

I liked having sun dried tomatoes in it of course there were also regular tomatoes.

To my knowledge, we don't have that pasta here... not that I've seen, anyway.

I never buy pasta sauce... my step Dad's recipe has stuck with me. But if I ever want a change of pace I'll be sure to ask you, Don... oh all knowing being of pasta and sauce!! ;O)

Give it up Jules! I wan't to know how to make Daddy's sauce.

What stores around Long beach sell this Betty Baker pasta, the elbow macaroni especially?

I don't know Laura, I found it in Safeway here in Washington. I don't know if you have Safeway down there, or where it would be.

I've only tried the spaghetti, so I don't know about the elbow. I would suspect it's good though if it's anything like the spaghetti.
