Dinghy sailing in Montana

I watched this guy sail his dinghy on the Flathead River in Montana from a bridge. It was some of the most radical dinghy sailing I've ever seen. The wind was strong as was the current and the pictures make it look easy, but this guy is a true master, and his sailing was a beautiful thing to watch.

I don't know what class it is. It's like an Optimist but larger and doesn't have the gaffed sail. I've seen it at a house around there.

The guy was pretty big and he was sailing it to its limit. The wind was blowing strong from the west and the current of the river was going west. So it was a situation much like on the gorge. The wind blows upstream so you can keep going back and forth at the same spot on the river.

Sailing a dinghy... something I can honestly say I've never heard of doing before!

It's a good way to learn to sail.
